We had an incredibly insightful conversation with @artsparktx’s panel of speakers about accessibility in the arts. 🫶 As the @austinstudiotour comes up, we hope you keep these considerations in mind! Here’s what we learned:

✨Not every space is accessible and that’s okay! Just be transparent about ADA compliance so folks know what to expect.

✨Accessible spaces/locations ideally provide:
+ Multiple ADA parking spots
+ Areas with wide enough turning radiuses for wheelchair users
+ Flat, clean spaces
+ Art that is at an interactive height + easily accessible
Ramps for wheelchair users (there are temporary and foldable options!)

✨These are ways to connect with different audiences:
+ You can provide QR Codes which include pictures of the art. If it’s tactile, you can provide squares of materials
+ Offer to be outside for a certain amount of time so folks can ask you questions about their art. There’s nothing better than hearing from the artist themselves.
+ Upload a video of your space online so visitors know what to expect and can re-visit the art the saw in your studio

✨Last but not least, treat visitors with the same curiosity and warmth you’d treat others.

If you’d like to learn more, Art Spark has a plethora of resources on their website and host a podcast called “True Tales by Disability Advocates”. 💭🙇

✨ Congratulations to the 815 featured Artists, Art

ASMR: Mini Edition! 👌(this emoji is meant to depict how mini we’re talking here)

We are so excited for the 2” x 4” Group Exhibition that we brought in some tiny figurines, miniature harmonicas and even a mini book-store!

Listen up as we prove just how much we love mini things 🫶

It’s gonna happen and you’re gonna want to be ther

It’s gonna happen and you’re gonna want to be there when it does: the @austinstudiotour Kick-Off Celebration. Red carpet. Hundreds of friends. Live music—funk, rock, pop, soul. ART Bar. Giant balloon sculptures. A dog. New Guidebook!

Deep breath.

2” x 4” original art to celebrate the 24th anniversary of the Tour. You are part of the art. Literally, you’re inside of the Guidebook cover. Hand-screen-printed posters and a fresh shirt. Coloring with giant markers. You love Austin.

ART will make your dreams come true. You just gotta believe. What are your dreams?

We are so proud of @hope_hummingbird, @kate.csilla

We are so proud of @hope_hummingbird, @kate.csillagi, and @peptalks and the work they created for FORTRESS. 💖
