My studio features a large body of chimera sculptures that are amalgamations of found ceramic dolls and/or animal figurines and supplemental materials. As individual works of art, they are intentionally whimsical and approachable, fostering dialogues that all viewers can engage in without fears of “getting it wrong.” However, at the heart of the series are weightier deliberations that I’ve encapsulated into the following line from my artist statement: life is pretty much an estate sale waiting to happen. I am an artist, writer, editor, creative consultant, and Austin native.
