Art is my way of documenting fleeting moments in time: the intricate patterns of a blooming flower, the light reflecting through the trees in the morning, or muted colors in the shadows. I love to explore abstract marks and shapes to represent shadowy, mysterious, and vibrant landscapes. Drips, drops and scratches are part of my process. Each painting starts with individual layers of color and mark making. I add and take away from each of these layers until I’m drawn to a shape or shadow. My current series is inspired by the dramatic sunsets of west and central Texas.
