MUSEUM OF COLLECTIBLES & CURIOSITIES

Installation
The Museum of Collectibles & Curiosities was established in 2015, also our first year to participate in the West Austin Studio Tour. The Museum contains the artwork and collections of native Austinite Patricia Duncan Brown. She studied art at UT and graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art with top honors. Creative and discerning, Pat devoted herself fully to both her art and to collecting. She began collecting as a child. One case in our museum displays a selection of Pat’s artworks and supplies. The rest of the museum is devoted to curated examples from her many whimsical collections.

What To expect

Thinking of the feedback we’ve received from visitors young and old, since opening to the public-words like “whimsical”, “experiences growing up” and “visiting grandma” typify responses. When school children visit, they are taken with antique toys and dolls and love the miniature figures of animal musicians and the profusion of black cats. Adult visitors focus on memories of their own childhoods-the Christmas’ celebrated with family, the Valentines sent and received, the romances experienced and weddings attended. Come and share the delight that is the Museum of Collectibles & Curiosities!
