I grew up in the interior of the Republic of Panama, which largely informs my work. My primary medium is oil paint on canvas, although I dabble in mixed media on paper, and I use these supplies to create uplifting and stylistic paintings that explore the wonder of the outdoors. Using vibrant colors (particularly blues and greens), thick paint, palette knives, paint brushes, cold wax medium, gold leaf, and oil stick, I create landscapes, botanicals, and even figural paintings that connect the human experience and the natural world – all with an aesthetic emphasis on light, color, and texture.
