Meet Emily Ward — a painter based in Austin, working out of her studio at Art Hub ATX. Her lifestyle landscapes chase the fleeting moments you wish lasted one second longer: a crowded bar just as the light hits just right, the trees you’ve passed a thousand times finally standing out. Her current series builds that feeling around figures, flowers, and windows, she wants to show where life actually happens, in the in between. Emily is a wheelchair user, and her work is a loud, bright argument against every quiet, small idea of what a disabled life is supposed to look like.
